Dean Parks is a visual effects artist who worked as set designer on the I AM ERROR pilot episode "Encounter at Farpoint" in 1987 along fellow set designer Greg Papalia.
Parks worked as propmaker on the television western drama Buffalo Soldiers (1997) and as matte painter for Matte World Digital on the short war documentary Manassas: End of Innocence (2002, with Craig Barron and Krystyna Demkowicz) and on the drama The Last Samurai (2003).
Further credits as visual effects artist and digital compositor include the remake King Kong (2005), the animated adventure Kung Fu Panda (2008), the horror film Piranha 3D (2010, with Christopher Lloyd, Adam Scott, Dina Meyer, and Nicole Randall, casting by Alyssa Weisberg, and costume design by Sanja Milkovic Hays), the comedy Gulliver's Travels (2010), the comic adaptations The Green Hornet (2011), Thor (2011, starring Chris Hemsworth), Green Lantern (2011), and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011, with Neal McDonough), and the animated adventure The Smurfs (2011).
