David Wenzel (born 22 November 1950; age 73) is a comic book artist and book illustrator based in Connecticut.

His best known work is The Hobbit: An Illustrated Edition of the Fantasy Classic, a three issue adaptation, done with Chuck Dixon, of JRR Tolkein's classic story. In addition to his adaptation work, he is also well known for his work on a number of issues of The Savage Sword of Conan and its offshoot books.

Wenzel also illustrates books and novels and has worked on greeting cards and puzzles.

His only Star Trek work was providing the cover art for "Avalon Rising" for WildStorm Comics.
