David was a famous sculpture by the Human artist Michelangelo. Created in 1504, the statue was considered to be a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture. It portrayed the Biblical David at the moment that he decided to engage Goliath.
The statue survived until at least 2370, when Jean-Luc Picard compared it to Symnay's Tomb for its ability to inspire and affect individuals. (TNG: "Birthright, Part I")
