He began his career in animation in the late 1970s working as a layout artist for Filmation Studios before moving onto Hanna Barberra and Mihan Productions. In the late 1980s, he broke into the comics industry, eventually becoming very well known for his work on on The Wanderers and Starman from DC Comics and Captain America from Marvel Comics.

His only Star Trek work is pencil art for "Embrace the Wolf" from WildStorm Comics in 2000.
