Daryl Furumi Mallett (born 3 May 1969; age 54) is an actor, editor and freelance writer who co-created, with Arthur Loy Holcomb, Barbra Wallace and George Brozak, one of the original storylines for the Star Trek: The Next Generation sixth season episodes "Birthright, Part I" and "Birthright, Part II". He also appeared as a background performer in The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and as a Rura Penthe prisoner in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Mallett was born in Los Angeles, California and graduated from the University of California in Riverside in 1991. Beside his acting work on Star Trek, he also appeared as a background actor in the action comedies Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (1989, with Adrienne Barbeau and Christopher Doyle) and Carmady's People: The Case of the Reluctant Major (1991); technical writer for Sphere (1998); as a Toy Soldier for years in the Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade; and in numerous stage productions, winning a DramaLogue Award in 1992 for his performance as Christmas Future in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

His writing credits include dozens of nonfiction books, most recently the book Falcon Field (2009). He also wrote several short stories, such as "Tongue-Tied: Bubo's Tale" from Star Wars: Tales from Jabba's Palace in 1996. Mallett is founder and producer of Dustbunny Productions, as well as working with Caribou Moving Pictures, Paddlefoot Productions, Draco Productions and other small production houses.
