(written from a Production point of view)
Salinas began her career in show business as an art department coordinator. Her two earliest credits were projects starring Star Trek: The Next Generation regular Brent Spiner – the 1997 comedy feature film Out to Sea and the 1999 HBO drama Introducing Dorothy Dandridge. She then coordinated the art department for the acclaimed motion picture Magnolia, whose cast included Henry Gibson, Pat Healy, Don McManus, and Michael Shamus Wiles. (Robert Elswit was Director of Photography on Magnolia.)
As a set decoration coordinator, Salinas worked on two films featuring performances by Star Trek: Enterprise regulars – Jurassic Park III, which had Linda Park, and Beowulf, which included Dominic Keating. She has also worked on two films starring The Rock – The Scorpion King (co-starring Branscombe Richmond and featuring music by John Debney) and Be Cool (with cinematography by Jeffrey L. Kimball).
Star Trek was the second film Salinas worked on that was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The first film was The Island, which featured performances by Star Trek: Voyager regular Ethan Phillips as well as Katy Boyer, Michael Canavan, Tim Halligan, Glenn Morshower, Randy Oglesby, and Noa Tishby. Salinas' other credits as set decoration coordinator include Cast Away (featuring Michael Forest), The Italian Job (featuring Boris Lee Krutonog), and Starsky & Hutch featuring David Soul and Darlena Tejeiro).
