Durante degli Alighieri, better known as Dante, was a Human poet from Earth who wrote during the late 13th century and early 14th century. Khan had a copy of Dante's Inferno, a book describing Hell from Dante’s La Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy), on his bookshelf while on Ceti Alpha V. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan). Captain Janeway also had a copy of this book, given to her by her fiancé Mark Johnson. (VOY: "Shattered")
