Daniel "Danny" McCauley (25 August 191622 November 2004; age 88) was a prolific Hollywood assistant director, who worked as 1st AD on Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

McCauley's career spanned more than four decades, during which he served as Assistant Director on countless classic Hollywood productions, including The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) and The Ten Commandments (1956), The Wrong Man (1956) and Vertigo (1958), Rosemary's Baby (1968), The Last Tycoon (1976), and Star Trek: The Original Series director Joseph Pevney's 3 Ring Circus (1954).
