Daniel Zacapa (born 1951) is an actor who made his television debut playing Henry Garcia in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Past Tense, Part II" in 1995. Five years later, he returned to the Star Trek franchise, playing an astronomer in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Blink of an Eye".
A native of of Honduras, Zacapa has had a distinguished career in television. Outside of Star Trek, he has appeared on Seinfeld (with fellow Voyager guest actor Jason Alexander and fellow DS9 guest performer Heidi Swedberg), Beverly Hills, 90210, Diagnosis Murder (with Susan Gibney), Six Feet Under (with Ed Begley, Jr. and Tracy Middendorf), NYPD Blue (with Gordon Clapp and Brian McNamara), The West Wing (with Thomas Kopache), the new Dragnet (one episode with Gary Graham, another with Erick Avari), Nip/Tuck (one episode with Jonathan Del Arco, another with Ian Abercrombie), and J.J. Abrams' Alias. Zacapa could also be seen in two episodes of JAG: one episode with Matt Winston, and another with David Andrews, Zoe McLellan, and then-series regular Scott Lawrence. In 2000, he appeared in an episode of The Practice which also guest-starred Next Generation actress Gates McFadden. Two years later, he appeared on Boomtown, a series starring Star Trek: First Contact actor Neal McDonough. The episode Zacapa appeared in also featured Star Trek: Enterprise star Anthony Montgomery and DS9 guest actress Vanessa Williams.
Zacapa has also guest-starred on a number of other series in which fellow Trek alumni were regular cast members (besides the aforementioned Seinfeld, NYPD Blue, JAG, and Boomtown). He was seen on the Zach Grenier series C-16: FBI, in an episode with Lanei Chapman, Jeff Kober, and Glenn Morshower. He and Morshower also appeared in an episode of The District, starring Roger Aaron Brown. There was also an episode of Resurrection Blvd., starring Tony Plana and also guest-starring Lawrence Monoson and Ray Wise. Lastly, there was an episode of The Agency, on which Zacapa worked with series regular Daniel Benzali and David Clennon and fellow guest-star Gregg Henry.
Zacapa also has many film credits to his name. His largest film role thus far was also his first, playing Detective Taylor in the acclaimed 1995 thriller Se7en. The following year, he had a small role in Phenomenon, which also featured TNG star Brent Spiner and DS9 guest star Richard Kiley. Zacapa's other film credits include Up Close & Personal (1996), The Odd Couple II (1998), The Mexican (2001), and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002, with Carlos Carrasco, Michael Ensign, Tommy Hinkley, and Monika Spruch).
