Daniel Eugene Butler (born 2 December 1954; age 69) is the actor who played Steth, his imposter and Tom Paris in the Star Trek: Voyager fourth season episode "Vis à Vis".

Career[]

Butler is perhaps best known for his role as Robert "Bulldog" Briscoe on Frasier, along with Kelsey Grammer. Initially he was a recurring guest actor, but in 1996 he became a member of the main cast. His character was written out of the show in 1999, but returned to guest star in five episodes of the series' last three seasons.

He also appeared in two episodes of Quantum Leap with Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell, including an appearance in the final episode which also featured Richard Herd, Bruce McGill, Stephen McHattie, W. Morgan Sheppard and Susan Diol.

In 1993, he had a supporting role in Dave where he worked with Frank Langella, Parley Baer, Stefan Gierasch, Charles Hallahan, Stephen Root, Dawn Arnemann, Dendrie Taylor, Paul Collins, Peter White, Robin Gammell, Tory Christopher, and Pam Pruitt-McGeary.
