The Creator was the designation given by V'Ger to the one that had originally created it. V'Ger believed that the Creator was an artificial lifeform, like itself, and thought the humans it found on "the Creator's planet", Earth, had either usurped or killed the Creator.

However, it was discovered that V'Ger was the ancient Earth probe Voyager VI, and that humans themselves were the Creator.

V'Ger's ultimate goal was to find the Creator and merge with them - this was achieved when Willard Decker keyed the final download command into the probe's computer in 2273. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
