Construction module with thrusters

A construction module being fitted with thrusters.

A construction module was a utility used by the Federation that allowed construction or implementation of various objects by mechanical means without the need of personnel near by.

In 2367, a garbage scow was caught in the gravitational forces of Gamelan V, prompting Geordi La Forge to develop the idea of using construction modules to place thrusters on the scow and thereby remove it from orbit. (TNG: "Final Mission")
