The Communications Research Center is a Starfleet institution based in San Francisco on Earth.
It was home to the Pathfinder Project, which was founded between 2374 and 2376 in order to establish communications with the Federation starship USS Voyager, which was lost in the Delta Quadrant since 2371. (VOY: "Pathfinder")
