Cold weather suit
The cold weather suit was used by Starfleet to protect away team members from extreme cold weather environments.
The suit had a silver-like color and consisted of pants, jacket, gloves, boots and goggles, complemented with a scarf to protect the facial area. Unlike standard Starfleet uniforms it showed no rank markings and instead of the division colors at shoulder height, it displayed only a small, dark grey band in their place.
The pants had no pockets and were held up by elastic bands which crossed at the back, like 20th century suspenders, and ended just above the waistline.
The jacket had a fixed hood and was padded with a fur-like fabric. It had two large pockets at the front, which could be closed, and two large pockets at either side at the back of the jacket, which could not be closed. The jacket itself was closed via four clips at the front. A combadge, located at the upper left of the chest, was worn on the suit and had its own protective cover.
The glove were padded to keep out the cold, while the boots had ridges on the bottom for extra grip and closed with some form of quick fasteners. (VOY: "Timeless")
