Template:Realworld Clark James is a film technician whose specialties include models and props, miniature lighting and design, special effects, creature and puppet fabrication, mechanical and electrical design, pneumatics and hydraulics, rigging and flying, pyrotechnics and other technical aspects. He built various props and devices for Star Trek: Enterprise and built phaser rifles, hand phasers and tricorders for Star Trek Nemesis. He was more recently a special effects technician on 2009's Star Trek.

James has also worked on such films as Apollo 13, Paramount's Titanic, The Fifth Element, Contact, Armageddon (co-written by J.J. Abrams), Thirteen Days (starring Bruce Greenwood and Steven Culp), A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Austin Powers in Goldmember, Spider-Man 2 (starring Kirsten Dunst and James Cromwell), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (with costume design by Michael Kaplan), War of the Worlds, and X-Men: The Last Stand (starring Kelsey Grammer, Famke Janssen and Patrick Stewart). He also did scenic work on the hit Adult Swim series Robot Chicken, including model making and miniature lighting and props.

His commercial work includes spots for such companies as Taco Bell, McDonald's, Ford, Buick, Budweiser and Lipton. He has also worked on concerts for such talent as Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Meatloaf, Bette Midler, and Barbara Streisand.

From 1995 through 1997 and again in 1998, James was the project lead at Digital Domain. Other companies he has worked with include Sony Pictures, Touchstone/Disney and Stan Winston Studios.

James' recent film work include Live Free and Die Hard (which features Tim Russ) and Paramount's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (featuring Pasha Lychnikoff. He is currently working on Angels & Demons, the prequel to The Da Vinci Code which opens a week after Star Trek.
