Chlorophyll is a green pigment that was found in cyanobacteria and the chloroplasts of algae and plants.
In 2372, while searching for a cure to a band of Jem'Hadar's ketracel-white addiction, Doctor Julian Bashir discovered a high content of chlorophyll in certain plants. He found this unusual as Bopak III orbited a red giant, and therefore on such a planet this would not normally be expected. (DS9: "Hippocratic Oath")
