The chemist's shop was an establishment located on the Promenade of Terok Nor while it was still under Cardassian rule.

During the mid-2360s, the shop was owned by Vaatrik, and was the location where he hid a strongbox containing a list of Bajoran collaborators. Vaatrik was later murdered, and in 2370 (after the Cardassian occupation had ended), Vaatrik's widow Pallra hired Quark to retrieve the box from what was now the ship's store . The box was hidden behind a wall panel -- "three in, five up," as she told the Ferengi. Quark's brother, Rom, was able to burn the panel off in ten seconds with kemosite drops. (DS9: "Necessary Evil")
