Ernesto "Che" Guevera was a famous 20th century Human communist politician, guerrilla leader, and revolutionary in the 1950s and 1960s.
When the USS Voyager was controlled by the Kazon, leaving only The Doctor and Lon Suder to recapture the ship, The Doctor told himself that he was no Che Guevara or Nathan Hale and that he was "a doctor, not a counterinsurgent". (VOY: "Basics, Part II")
Kim Cattrall studied the life of Che Guevara when she prepared for playing her role in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, according to an article by Mark A. Altman about the Valeris character. (citation needed • edit)
