Summary
The crew of the Enterprise D explore a remote region of space, and discover a group of human slaves on a ice-covered world. The slaves revolt, overthrowing their masters, and then turn on the crew of the Enterprise, kidnapping Captain Picard and Counselor Troi. This draws the crew into the conflict between the newly-freed slaves and a race of bird-like aliens who are returning to the planet to reclaim their planet.
