He also worked on the film's teaser trailer with David Dozoretz, Jason Michael Hall, and his Vital Distraction partner, Kevin Aguirre. [1]

As a founding member of Vital Distraction, Hofteig has worked on such films as Flight of the Phoenix, xXx: State of the Union, and Eragon. He also worked on Mission: Impossible III, which, like Star Trek, was directed by J.J. Abrams and released by Paramount Pictures.

Hofteig was the head of Vital Distraction's team of visualization artists on the films Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Evan Almighty. [2] [3] In addition to Star Trek, he recently worked on Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D and the remake for The Day the Earth Stood Still.
