The central plexus was a device present on all Borg vessels which linked it to every other Borg ship.
In 2377, a team from the USS Voyager gained access to the central plexus of a Class-4 tactical cube in an attempt to distribute a nanovirus to the entire Borg Collective, designed to nullify the cortical inhibitors of a community of drones who had been interacting with each other while regenerating, allowing them to retain their memories in the real world.
