Cayenne pepper (or simply Cayenne) is a pungent red pepper commonly used as a spice in Cajun and Creole cooking.
Jonathan Archer exchanged several spices from the ship's galley, including black pepper, paprika, mustard seed, and cayenne in exchange for the formula necessary for synthesizing trellium-D. (ENT: "Rajiin")
Joseph Sisko often accused both his wife and his daughter Judith of not putting enough cayenne in the Jambalaya. (DS9: "Homefront", "Accession")
