Cavorite is a chemical element listed on the periodic table, a transuranic element in the transonic series. (TNG:"Rascals")

This element was listed on the periodic table visible in the schoolroom, although it was listed with the symbol "Co," which is actually the symbol for cobalt. Its atomic number was listed as 89, an apparent error for conflicting with the real life element actinium. The display was filled with many in-jokes, this element was apparently named for the fictional element from H.G. Wells' "The First Men in the Moon." Cavorite was supposedly impervious to gravity and could shield other materials from its effects. It was used to shield a craft from the Earth's pull, allowing discoverer Mr. Cavor to travel to the Moon.
