dedication plaques peoples (moved from category suggestions)Edit

dedication plaque personnel" (or possibly Category:Starfleet dedication plaque personnel)
  • I'd like to start a list category, to list all personnel whose names are metioned on dedication plaques. These names would be double categorized depending on which plaques personnel they are listed with, as the subcategory would still list them (provided that ship's plaque listed too few people to be categorized).
    • In this way, people who were, say, on USS Voyager's dedication plaque would then be separated from the master list Category:USS Voyager personnel and listed at Category:USS Voyager dedication personnel. This would make it easier to discern the real crew, from those only listed among them on computers and plaques. Also, the double cat. would help readers see how many ship's plaques a person had been on, and the master category would help them compare related personnel (R. Berman and great grandson Rick K. Berman, just kidding, etc, but it would list them alphabetically).
    • If not too disruptive, I'm going to find only a handful of applicable articles and set up their treeing the way i see it forming, and objections or changes could be discussed here. -- Captain M.K.B. 23:50, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
      • I like this idea (partly because of my liking of Ded plaque guys). Unless a non-Starfleet dedication plaque shows up, it should probably go under "Starfleet dedication plaque personnel" as that sounds better to my eyes. I also agree with the sub-categories, with the possible exception of the Cousteau dedication plaque personnel (1 guy,Jean-Luc Picard).--Tim Thomason 15:10, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
        • The Cousteau plaque, Brattain and Phoenix all probably have too few to justify a subcategory. Is 20+ people a good requirement to have a subcat? --Captain M.K.B. 15:22, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
          • I would say 10 people is a good dividing point for any cat (always my dividing point). That way we could still create Brattain and Phoenix categories. We can simply mention on Picard's article that he was on the Cousteau plaque, and if any plaques turn up with 5 to 10 people, we can make a template or something. --Tim Thomason 20:37, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Category names Edit

The category names don't seem to be consistent. We have "USS Brittain dedication plaque personnel" and "USS Dauntless dedication plaque personnel" and then we have "USS Sao Paulo dedication personnel" and "USS Pasteur dedication personnel". Just throwing it out there. -- TrekFan Open a channel 09:17, February 4, 2011 (UTC)
