Carrie A. Henger Neff (18 May 1955 – 4 March 2010; age 54) was a former actress and dog trainer who portrayed a security officer in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episodes "Brothers" and "Suddenly Human". She received no credit for these appearances and was identified by a call sheet for the episode "Suddenly Human", dated on 26 July 1990.
Henger was a past director of the Canine Accelerant Detection Association and trained with them for many years. She also was a member of the North American Police Work Dog Association and worked as dog handler and dog trainer on several movie and television productions such as the adventure movie Journey to the Center of the Earth (1989, with Peter Henry Schroeder and Rick Avery), the comedy sequel Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985, with David Graf, Tom Morga, and Brian J. Williams), and the television series Matlock and The A-Team. [1] As an actress, Henger appeared as a female soldier in the comedy Shooters (1989) and was a contestant in the 1991 American Gladiators episode "Second Half Preliminary Round 2: Johnson vs. Kiernan/Akai vs. Henger".
On 19 April 1991 she was hired by the Los Angeles County Fire Department where she worked eighteen years in service. Fire Captain Carrie Henger Neff, who retired from active duty in 2009, passed away on 4 March 2010 following a 4½ year fight with job-related ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband Bob Neff.
