Carl Sagan Memorial Station

Carl Sagan Memorial Station plaque

The Carl Sagan Memorial Station was a location on Mars, marked by a monument and not far from the terraforming verteron array. It was the spot where the NASA rover Sojourner, launched in the late 20th century, finally came to rest after its mission of exploration. The monument was created by the Mars Historical Preservation Society, who classified the location as a "Mars Heritage Site". (ENT: "Terra Prime")

The text upon the monument read:
MARS HERITAGE SITE

MARS HISTORICAL PRESERVATION SOCIETY
"WHATEVER THE REASON YOU'RE ON MARS I'M GLAD YOU'RE THERE,
AND I WISH I WAS WITH YOU." - CARL SAGAN

There are hills visible on the horizon in "Terra Prime", which, in fact, did not exist in the 20th century, when Pathfinder and Sojourner took their images.
