Brandeis-Bardin as the Khitomer outpost.

The Brandeis-Bardin Institute is a religious retreat located in southern California in the United States of America. The distinctive and futuristic architecture of the House of the Book building at the site has been used several times in Star Trek productions, usually modified with a matte painting. It first appeared as Camp Khitomer in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and then as Lore's Borg compound in TNG: "Descent, Part I and Part II."

The House of the Book can also be seen in various other productions, including the movie Lawnmower Man, four Power Rangers spinoffs, and the music video for the Marilyn Manson song "The Dope Show."
