A bowling alley was a place where the sport of bowling was played.

Kevin Riley, under the influence of polywater intoxication "ordered" a formal dance to be held in the bowling alley on the USS Enterprise. (TOS: "The Naked Time")

It is unclear if a bowling alley was actually installed on the Enterprise, as Riley was intoxicated and may not have been speaking the truth.
Fan extras filming on the rec deck in TMP saw Lee Cole's directional signage to the ship's bowling alley. The signage is featured on the cover of "ST:TMP Peel-Off Graphics Book".

Deep Space 9 also had a bowling alley on its Promenade. Its address was 01-854. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine set decoration)
