A Bounty Hunter is a person/entity who hunts criminals, fugitives for a monetary/mercenarial gain. Famous ones on Earth was Ralph "Papa" Thorsen and Duane "Dog" Chapman. On other places, a Tellerite bounty hunter had captured Captain Archer (Enterprise) and wanted to turn him over to the Klingons for a reward. They are known to be HEAVILY armed and highly trained in all known modes of combat, so as to subdue their quarry,to take the quarry alive or, in some cases, dead to those who want the quarry.
