Biomolecular replication was a biological process studied in the 24th century.

Doctor Julian Bashir was nominated for the Carrington Award in 2371 for his work in biomolecular replication, becoming the youngest nominee in the history of the award. According to Jadzia Dax, his work was both "audacious and groundbreaking" (DS9: "Prophet Motive")
