The Betreka Nebula Incident was an 18-year-long conflict between the Klingon Empire and the Cardassian Union. Julian Bashir cited the Incident to Elim Garak as an example of hostile relations between the two peoples, but Garak dismissed it as having happened "ages ago". (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior")
- The Lost Era novel, "The Art of the Impossible" indicates that the Betreka Nebula Incident takes place sometime between 2328 and 2346.
