Beta Aurigae was a binary star system in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was located near the vicinity of Camus II and the Benecia Colony.

In 2269, the USS Potemkin was scheduled to rendezvous with the USS Enterprise in the Beta Aurigae to conduct gravitational studies of the system. Before the rendezvous, the Enterprise received a distress call from Camus II causing the mission with the Potemkin to be delayed. (TOS: "Turnabout Intruder")

In 2293, the location of Beta Aurigae in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart that was in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram)
