Benton Ward served as day playing RF Technician on the second unit of 2009's Star Trek. [1]
Ward started his career as production assistant on Almost Salinas (2001, starring Virginia Madsen and Ray Wise, and with location scout Scott Trimble), the drama Hawaiian Gardens (2001, with Tzi Ma), the television movie Cell Dogs (2005), and Monk. As a member of the art department, Ward served as set dresser and art department assistant on National Treasure (2004) and the reality television shows Celebrity Fit Club, Untold Stories of the ER, My Fair Brady, and Pros vs. Joes.
Since 2006, he worked regularly in the camera and electrical department, mostly as RF technician, also in the second unit. His credits include The Oh in Ohio (2006, with Tim Russ), Gridiron Gang (2006, starring Dwayne Johnson), the reality show On the Lot (2007), Blades of Glory (2007), Spider-Man 3 (2007, with Kirsten Dunst and James Cromwell), the thriller Vacancy (2007), Live Free or Die Hard (2007), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), Iron Man (2008, with Faran Tahir and Bill Smitrovich), Get Smart (2008), The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), The Dark Knight (2008), Wanted (2008), Fast & Furious (2009), and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009, written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman).
