Beat Frutiger (born 31 October 1951; age 72) is one of the many art directors who worked on Star Trek. He resides in Los Angeles, California, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture.

Frutiger entered the entertainment industry as a set designer and property maker on the 1995 film Carnosaur 2, starring Star Trek alumni Cliff DeYoung and John Savage. He then worked as a set designer or assistant art director on the 1997 films Warriors of Virtue (featuring Lee Arenberg), The Maker (featuring Jeff Kober and Lawrence Pressman), Flubber (starring Clancy Brown, Christopher McDonald, and Wil Wheaton), and Breast Men (starring Louise Fletcher and Terry O'Quinn).

Some of Frutiger's early work as a senior art director can be seen in episodes of CBS' Nash Bridges. He later worked as art director on Without a Trace, starring Enrique Murciano. He was also Supervising Art Director on Vanilla Sky (2001). Since then, Frutiger has been in high demand as a feature film art director. His films thus far have included Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003, featuring David Andrews and Kristanna Loken), The Haunted Mansion (2003, featuring Wallace Shawn), Elizabethtown (2005, starring Kirsten Dunst and Bruce McGill), Lucky You (2007, starring Eric Bana), Transformers (2007, written by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman), and Live Free or Die Hard (2007, featuring Tim de Zarn and Tim Russ). Frutiger was art director on Meet Dave, (2008, starring Eddie Murphy and Gabrielle Union.)
