Summary

The Battle of the Briar Patch took place between the USS Enterprise-E and two Son'a battle cruisers. The two Son'a cruisers were ordered by Ru'afo, under the consent of Admiral Matthew Dougherty to intercept the Enterprise. The Enterprise was trying to reach a clear transmission range so they could report the collector's exsistence.

However Commander William T. Riker who was in temporary command of the Enterprise. Managed to collect enough metrion gas via the ram scoop and deploy it at the Son'a ships which destroyed one cruiser and damaged the other.

Prelude

Due to the Son'a plan to deploy their collector at the Bak'u homeworld. The USS Enterprise NCC 1701-E tried to reach a transmission range to send a message to Starfleet saying about Ru'afo's plan to deploy a collector. However Ru'afo upon the consent of Vice Admiral Dougherty, ordered his two battle cruisers to stop the Enterprise. The Enterprise was fired upon damaging it, Daniels reported that shields were down to 60 percent.

Meanwhile in Engineering, Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge reported that the [[warp core was burning deutirium and that the warp core had to be ejected. Then the Son'a fired a torpedoe into the metrion gas creating a subspace tear. The warp core was ejected and detonated sending the Enterprise off course. RIker then transferred helm controls to manual and collected the gas ejecting it using the ram scoop. Sending it at the Son'a, it then caused the detonation of the first Son'a cruiser and severly damaged the second. This move was later known as the Riker Maneuver.
