Barzan II was the second planet of the Barzan system in the Alpha Quadrant and home to the Barzan species. The planet possessed few, if any, natural resources and an atmosphere that was toxic to most humanoids.

In 2366, the Federation participated in negotiations for the rights for the Barzan wormhole, which had been discovered near Barzan II and appeared once every 233 minutes. The starship USS Enterprise-D hosted the negotiations in orbit of Barzan II due to the planet's atmospheric inhospitablity. In the end, it became clear that the other end of the wormhole was not stable, and its possible use as a resource vanished. (TNG: "The Price")
