The bridge of Baran's raider

Baran's raider was a mercenary vessel was utilized by Arctus Baran during his search for the Stone of Gol in 2369-2370. The ship was classified as "BC 01".

His vessel was encased in an energy-absorbing material (or sheath) that rendered the ship virtually undetectable to Federation long-range sensors. It was armed with dual forward disruptors and had a maximum velocity of warp 8.7.

In 2370, Baran and his group of marauders raided several ancient Vulcan archaeological sites throughout several systems between Vulcan and Romulus.

The ship was ultimately commandeered by Jean-Luc Picard and impounded by Vulcan authorities. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I", "Gambit, Part II")

Background

The studio model that was used for Baran's raider was originally designed by Richard Delgado as a Miradorn Theta-class raider for DS9: "Vortex".

Although this vessel was not specified as a Theta-class itself, based on its numerous character similarities and the same generalized identification (a "mercenary ship"), it may be reasonably assumed that is of the same (or similar) class.

Later the same studio model was used as the Taresian attack ship in VOY: "Favorite Son".

The Star Trek: Customizable Card Game gives this ship's name as Fortune with a class name of Virayllan.
