The rank system of the Bajoran Militia bore some resemblance to infantry rank shared by various other species' ranking systems. Rank insignia was typically worn on the officer's left collar. (DS9: "Emissary")

General[]

Krim

A general in 2370

General was a flag officer rank. Generals wore a dress tunic with epaulets, and wore two gold insignia pins, one on each side of their collar. (DS9: "The Circle", "Sanctuary")

Krim was identified as an "over-general" in the script for DS9: "The Siege". [1]

Colonel[]

In 2370, Colonel Day wore a gold-colored rank insignia. (DS9: "The Siege")

Day was identified as a "field colonel" in the script, but is only referred to as colonel in dialogue. In "real world" terminology, a field officer refers collectively to the ranks of major, lieutenant colonel, colonel, and/or brigadier. He does not appear to wear either Lenaris or Kira's colonel insignia.

In 2371, Lenaris Holem's wore a colonel insignia that looked like the major insignia with an additional gold outline. (DS9: "Shakaar")

In 2375, Kira was promoted to colonel and wore a pewter major insignia. (DS9: "Image in the Sand") When Kira was given a temporary Starfleet commission, she wore the rank of commander, suggesting an equivalence between the two. (DS9: "When It Rains...")

Captain[]

Captains wore a gold-colored insignia that looked like the Bajoran emblem, but without the bottom half of the outer-most oval. (DS9: "Battle Lines")

The Bajoran captain was not referred to by rank in dialogue or the script, though their rank was depicted in the chart in Star Trek Encyclopedia (2nd ed., p. 29).

Lieutenant[]

Lieutenants wore an insignia that looked like the Bajoran emblem without the outer-most oval. (DS9: "Things Past")

Neither Anara or Okala were referred to as lieutenants, though their rank was identified from the chart in Star Trek Encyclopedia (2nd ed., p. 29). Brilgar was referred to as lieutenant in dialogue and Okala was identified as a lieutenant in the script, though neither wore rank insignia.

Ensign[]

Ensigns wore an insignia that looked like the Bajoran emblem without the outer-most oval, and only one-half of the inner oval. (DS9: "In the Hands of the Prophets"; LD: "Hear All, Trust Nothing")

Neela was not referred to as an ensign in dialogue. Her rank was identified from the chart in Star Trek Encyclopedia (2nd ed., p. 29).
The unnamed Bajoran officer from DS9: "Dramatis Personae" was identified as an ensign in the credits.

Bajoran enlisted personnel did not wear rank insignia and were addressed by their title or rate, similar to Starfleet enlisted personnel. (DS9: "Bar Association", "It's Only a Paper Moon")

Navarch[]

Navarch Li Nalas' rank insignia

After being rescued in 2370, Li Nalas was given the title of Navarch and assigned to Deep Space 9 as Bajoran liaison officer. Commenting on where he fit into the chain of command, Commander Benjamin Sisko noted that officially, the Navarch reports "directly to the Prophets." (DS9: "The Circle")

Li Nalas' role existed somewhat outside of the traditional chain of command, and his insignia, appeared to be based on a major's insignia – much like this example [2] – and may not be specifically tied to his title as Navarch.

Delgado's rank and uniform designs

Ricardo Delgado, working with Robert Blackman, developed concept art for the Bajoran rank pins that were structured: Admiral, Commodore, Captain, Commander, Ensign, Midshipman, Cadet, based on concentric segments of the Bajoran emblem, though the system the series ended up using was structured differently. (Star Trek: The Magazine Volume 1, Issue 9, p. 26)

The Star Trek Encyclopedia (2nd ed., p. 29), listed the Bajoran line officers' ranks as: major, captain, lieutenant, lieutenant (j.g.), and ensign. Lieutenant (j.g.) insignia were sold in the It's A Wrap! sale and auction, both as part of a complete set of Bajoran rank insignia, and attached to a uniform labeled Robert Cox, though it's unknown if it was used on screen.
