A Klingon Vor'cha-class attack cruiser

An attack vessel, assault vessel, or assault ship was a type of warship, typically of the same type as a cruiser or destroyer. The term attack cruiser was applied specifically to the Klingon Vor'cha-class attack cruiser.

In addition, the Vor'cha has also been identified as a battle cruiser and cruiser.

Lysian destroyers were identified as "a short range attack vessel." (TNG: "Conundrum")

In 2374, during the Dominion War, General Martok sent three attack cruisers to fortify the Dorala system's defense perimeter. (DS9: "The Reckoning")

For a time in early 2375, the Dominion requested that the production of assault ships being constructed at the Monac shipyard be increased by fifteen percent in order to retake the Chin'toka system. This request did not come to fruition, however, as the shipyard and a large fleet of ships, consisting of Jem'Hadar battle cruisers and Galor-class warships under construction there, were destroyed by a solar fusion eruption caused by the Monac sun. (DS9: "Shadows and Symbols")

The Hierarchy operated survey ships that were identified as Assault-class assault vessels. (VOY: "Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy")

In the anti-time future, Negh'Var warships were referred to as "attack cruisers" by Governor Worf. (TNG: "All Good Things...")
