Fukai was later a Starfleet officer during the mid- to late 24th century.

Retroactive continuity: In 2328, Fukai boarded a starship at Alpha Rossi, bound for Alpha Echevarria IV. This information was part of a passenger manifest recorded in the commercial transport database and reviewed by Data in 2370. (TNG: "Inheritance", okudagram)

In 2353, she was listed as a Starfleet Operational Support Services officer on the directory placard at Starbase 32, Maxia sector. Her office was located in room #35951. (TNG: "Violations", directory)

In 2369, Fukai served as a lieutenant commander aboard the USS Enterprise-D. She was one of seventeen individuals who were from worlds outside the Federation. Her proteins were tested by Doctor Beverly Crusher for a possible configuration match with the fragments of a 4 billion-year old genetic program. The results came back negative. During the 2370s, she was listed as a member of the Fleet Ops team on the dedication plaques of the Federation starships USS Voyager in 2371, and the USS Prometheus in 2373. (VOY: "Caretaker", dedication plaque; VOY: "Message in a Bottle", dedication plaque)

In an unknown, alternate future timeframe, she was listed as a Tactical Systems officer on the dedication plaque of the USS Pasteur. (TNG: "All Good Things...", dedication plaque)
