April Marie Eden (born 14 September 1983; age 33) is an actress and model who appeared as a Shipyard Bar patron in 2009's Star Trek. Later, she served as stand-in, photo double, and hand double for actress Rachel Nichols who portrayed the Orion Gaila. Eden, a Star Trek fan herself, stood in for Nichols in the Starfleet Academy trial scene where she was sitting in the group of cadets. Her work as hand double for Nichols pushing buttons in the control room of the Kobayashi Maru test scenario was cut from the final film but is available on the Blu-ray. Eden herself was interviewed in a special feature of the Blu-ray and presented the viewers her Enterprise tattoo on her neck. Eden returned to the sequel Star Trek Into Darkness where she appeared as an Orion Enterprise crewmember in a corridor scene. A behind the scenes picture of her was later used for card #13, "Ensign Virta", of the virtual collectible card battle game Star Trek: Rivals.
Born in Muskegon, Michigan, Eden moved to Detroit at the age of twelve where she graduated from college with a BA in Communication/ Theater and Theology. She appeared in several stage plays and commercials for products such as Harley Davidson, Sea Ray, and Axe and portrayed the leading role in music videos for artists including 50 Cent, Gym Class Heroes, and Kelly Clarkson.
Between 2005 and 2007 she hosted the reality show Material Girls and released a book based on the show in 2007. Beside this show she appeared in the video production Video Vixens (2006) and episodes of the television series Close to Home (2006, with Cress Williams and Scott Lawrence), Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2007), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2007, with Wallace Langham), Wild Girls Vegas (2007), and The Office (2008, with Terrence Beasor).
In 2007 she portrayed the leading role in the short horror film Becoming and the following years she performed stunts in the television series Eleventh Hour (2008, with Dennis Keiffer and Tanner Gill) and in the action thriller Crank: High Voltage (2009, with stunts by Robert Alonzo, Joey Anaya, Ben Bray, Ilram Choi, Shauna Duggins, Justin Rodgers Hall, Lauren Kim, Heidi Moneymaker, Katie Rowe, and Spice Williams-Crosby).
More recent projects include guest roles in Life (2009, with Erick Avari and Symba Smith), 90210 (2009), and Parks and Recreation (2009, with Jim O'Heir), the horror film The Fear Chamber (2009), and the comedy Izzy Legit (2010).
