Amazing Grace is a well known Earth hymn written by John Newton used often in Christian services on Earth. Its instrumental version has also been used frequently for funerals in various military organizations, including Starfleet.
The instrumental version was played on bagpipes by Commander Montgomery Scott at Captain Spock's funeral aboard the USS Enterprise in 2285. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)
