Amarie was a female musician who lived in the 24th century. She played piano in a bar on Qualor II, for which she seemed ideally suited as she had two pairs of hands. She enjoyed suck salt, though she considered it a nasty habit. She had married and divorced several times, with one of her ex-husbands being an arms smuggler.
While investigating the theft of the Vulcan starship T'Pau in 2368, the USS Enterprise inadvertently destroyed Amarie's ex-husband's ship after it attacked them. To gain more information, Commander William Riker visited Amarie, who offered to play Andorian blues for him. As he could not offer her any money, Riker taught her some jazz routines on the piano. She also played a selection from the Klingon opera Aktuh and Maylota for Lieutenant Worf. Regarding her ex-husband, she directed Riker to Omag, a Ferengi arms trader who always wanted her to play the same song, "Melor Famagal". (TNG: "Unification II")
A billboard featuring Amarie was up when D'Vana Tendi and Beckett Mariner visited Qualor II in 2381. (LD: "We'll Always Have Tom Paris")
