The Almatha sector is an area of Cardassian space that borders the Demilitarized Zone, under the command of Gul Toran. Border outposts 47 and 61 were located in this sector.
In 2371, after Thomas Riker had stole the USS Defiant, his entry point into Cardassian space was through the Almatha sector. (DS9: "Defiant")
