Alan Dale (born 6 May 1947; age 76) is an actor who played Praetor Hiren in Star Trek Nemesis.

Hailing from New Zealand, he is most noted for playing Jim Robinson in the long-running Australian soap Neighbours. He has since had recurring roles on 24 (2003-2004, alongside Jude Ciccolella, Michelle Forbes, Gregg Henry, Glenn Morshower, Robert Pine, John Rubinstein, Harris Yulin, and Alex Daniels), Lost (2006-2010), The X-Files (2002), The O.C. (2003-2005, working with on-screen wife Melinda Clarke), and Ugly Betty (2006-2007).

Other projects include episodes of The Lone Gunmen (2001), The Practice (2002), JAG (2003), The West Wing (2002-2003), and E-Ring (2005) and the action adventure Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).

Between 2003 and 2016 he appeared as Tom Morrow in fourteen episodes of NCIS. Two of the latter episodes guest-starred Marina Sirtis.

Having appeared in the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood, Dale is one of the few actors to have appeared in both the Star Trek and the Doctor Who franchises.

More recently, Dale played the role of Major Domo Joseph Anders in the reboot of the drama soap Dynasty (2017-2019), a role which was previously played by Lee Bergere of Star Trek: The Original Series.
