Adelphous IV was the fourth planet of its star system. In 2367, the USS Enterprise-D was on course to this planet when Data assumed command of the Federation starship at the beginning of the night watch. (TNG: "Data's Day")

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (pgs. 56,61,66), in 2151, the Adelphous system was located in non-aligned space. In 2160, this system was located near the Romulan Neutral Zone. In 2378, this system was in or near Federation space. This system was a single star system. Adelphous was a Class K star with a magnitude of +3, which was 10 times brighter than Sol.
