Ace Boooks

Ace Books is the oldest active specialty publisher of science fiction books. It was founded in 1952 by Aaron Wyn in New York City. In 1972, the company was sold to Grosset & Dunlap. During this time, in 1979, the company published the William Shatner biography Shatner: Where No Man... by Shatner, Sondra Marshak, and Myrna Culbreath, and followed it up four years later in 1983 with the mass market edition of A Star Trek Catalog.

The company was well known in the early 1980s for publishing reprints of the original The Saint novel series.

Ace eventually became a subsidiary of Berkley before being acquired by Penguin in the mid-1990s.
