"Abdul Abulbul Amir" was a 19th century Earth folk song which developed from a poem written by William Percy French in 1877. This poem has been frequently misquoted and parodied.
In 2367, on Terlina III, Lore sang the first verse of the song after successfully impersonating Data in order to trick Noonian Soong into installing an emotion chip in him and commented "I've always loved that ditty, but I could never quite get the cadence right." Lore later sang additional lines from the song when beaming away from the planet. (TNG: "Brothers")
The excerpts which Lore sang were not accurate to the original text.
