Fitzgerald (born 16 October 1978; age 45) is a film and television set production assistant from Indianapolis, Indiana, who worked on the 2nd Unit of 2009's Star Trek, directed and produced by J.J. Abrams. He previously worked on Abrams' 2006 film Mission: Impossible III, which was also written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and featured contributions from many on-screen and behind-the-scenes personalities who later worked on Star Trek.
Fitzgerald's prior film credits as a set production assistant have included Biker Boyz (featuring Titus Welliver), Cradle 2 the Grave (starring Gabrielle Union and featuring Daniel Dae Kim), 2003's The Italian Job (featuring Boris Lee Krutonog), Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd (starring Rachel Nichols), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (starring David Andrews, Earl Boen, and Kristanna Loken; with art direction by Beat Frutiger), Bad Santa (featuring Ethan Phillips), Spider-Man 2 (starring Kirsten Dunst and featuring Daniel Dae Kim and Donna Murphy), 2004's The Aviator (featuring Brent Spiner and written by John Logan), and Elizabethtown (starring Kirsten Dunst and Bruce McGill; with art direction by Beat Frutiger). More recent film credits include Next (featuring Jim Beaver), August Rush (starring Keri Russell and William Sadler), and The Dark Knight (featuring Andrew Bicknell, Danny Goldring, Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr., and Keith Szarabajka; with production design by Nathan Crowley).

With his work on Star Trek complete, Fitzgerald is now working on another highly-anticipated film from Paramount Pictures, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra. This film is the third production Fitzgerald has worked on which starred Rachel Nichols, after Dumb and Dumberer and Star Trek.
