An Aammazzaran

The Aammazaran were a humanoid species. In 2286, the Aammazaran were serving in the United Federation of Planets.

That year, an Aammazzaran couple attended a Federation Council trial of James T. Kirk. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

The names of these alien characters and their species are not established on-screen in Star Trek IV. The name "Aammazaran" comes from Teresa E. Victor, who portrayed one of the two aliens. (Star Trek: The Official Fan Club Magazine issue 56, p. 20) In the non-canon reference book Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update, the pair of Aammazaran councillors were referred to as Zaranites, a species that appears in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Also according to that book, the pair of Star Trek IV aliens were depicted using reused Zaranite breathing masks from the earlier film. Teresa Victor remembered, "Everyone [who worked on Star Trek IV] just called us 'the little bees because we looked like bees and Aammazaran was too hard to remember." (Star Trek: The Official Fan Club Magazine issue 56, p. 20)
Wearing the costume and make-up required to play an Aammazaran was considerably difficult. "First I had a bald cap which went over my hair," reflected Teresa Victor. "They used gel to flatten my hair down. It took about 45 minutes to get ready. They had to paint the parts of my arms that were exposed yellow. That wasn't easy to get off either! We had a hard time breathing through the masks we wore. They just let us hang them down our necks in between takes. When we had to walk, we could barely see where we were going. We had to hold onto each other and have one person lead. We always couldn't wait till the assistant director would yell, 'Heads off!' We would say, 'Oh, thank God! We can breathe!'" (Star Trek: The Official Fan Club Magazine issue 56, p. 20)
